Shake, Shake, Shake

A few of you are totally on board with this whole keeping in touch thing, and were sweet enough to reach out and ask if we were okay in the wake of all the ‘quakes this last week.

We didn’t feel a thing. In fact, in the over seven years I’ve been living in California, I’ve only felt two distinct earthquakes. Every now and again I’ll be laying awake in bed at night and think that I feel something, but then I can’t quite tell if it’s an earthquake or Joe farting.

The big one that hit off the coast of Eurkea on Saturday was too far away to feel anything; the Milpitas quake earlier in the week wasn’t felt by anyone, it seems. The funny thing is, there was a quake even earlier in the week down in San Diego, so it seems like something is definitely happening with the plates and the fault lines since the three big quakes this week ran in a very distinctive south-north direction.

To that end, I wanted to share an interesting article that ran in the Chronicle today about likely aftershocks. Fellow Californians, if you haven’t created an emergency kit yet, it’s time for a Target run!
