I saw this quote on Twitter this morning, and I love it. It resonates with me so much right now — both because of things happening within my closest relationships, and in my life in general. I find over time that it’s so easy to fall into particular stimulus-response patterns (or, put another way, the same things in your life trigger particular emotions, and in effect, responses), until you can’t even recognize what is you’re really responding to, or even that upset about. I’ve recently discovered that the wisdom of this quote is spot on — if you can pause for a second and think about your response, or what it is you’re really trying to say and communicate, it is liberating in the best way possible.
And so concludes this Wednesday’s food-for-thought therapy sesh. :)
